Leggings for your ASSETS

My other working title "Spanx You Again."  But, I think I've just seen too many 50 Shades Freed commercials.  Side note, why are those commercials on during the Olympics when my little ones are watching?!  I already had to have the sex talk with my six year old, I'm not ready to devulge anymore in that area, that's what college is for, right?!  Ok, getting back to leggings-

During the holidays I found the Spanx Faux Leather Legging (See blog post Spanx You Very Much.) It's a love item for sure and in my opinion any Spanx item I've purchased is worth every penny.  Spanx also has a spin off brand called ASSETS that came out with a partial faux leather legging that is just as amazing and 1/3 of the cost!   ASSETS by Spanx Women's Faux Leather Front Legging (priced at $34) has front pannels which are faux leather while the back pannel is a poly/spandex material that stretches over Bertha, compressions stocking and all.

I felt like the work out to get these on was a bit easier.  These are not only an awesome and trendy leggings, but ASSESTS will keep all of your assets in place.  Also with only half of the legging as faux leather I feel like I can dress them down with some sneakers as easily as I can dress these leggings up with a mule (or heel if you want to be really daring.)  It's a very versital piece to have in your wardrobe.

Basically this pair of leggings is like a mullet: polished business in the front, stretch and party for my legs in the back!  Too far? It was either that or an ode to my son with a Two Faced reference, which means it's time for me to close my computer ....also I need to have a conversation with someone who is over the age of six.

I guess it's time to introduce Bertha, my previous post might make a little more sense.  Some women name their boobs, I name my legs.  My skinny "normal" leg is Tiffany who I imagine would be a cheerleader and a runner.  And then there is my lymphedema leg Bertha, who bakes likes science.  Ok I know that is so stereotypical, but it's makes me laugh and makes other people feel awkward.  I mean they named a golf club "Big Bertha" so really I'm just following suit.  Bertha has been with me since 2007 and isn't going away anytime soon, so it was only proper she be named.  We have a love hate relationship, but in the end she is a big part of my life and according to my husband "his favorite leg in the world."  Yes you can "awwww" now.  And yes I hit the jackpot with him.  XOXO-Allie

Summer Sandals- Save and Splurge

Summer can be dreaded for Lymphies, the heat on our limbs can cause them to swell even more.  Add to that bearing our compression in swimsuits and sandals, it can be emotionally difficult as well.  I hope my post will alleviate some of the concern.  I've collected some summer sandals that will fit your lymphie leg (all the sandals listed come in wide widths or will most likely fit people with LE) For each style I've included a "Save" option and "Splurge."  With shoes I like to purchase some fun trends and not spend a lot, but then there are some shoes I know will last and I will get a lot of use from, I am willing to spend a little more on these.  You may think "Allie it's only March, summer is months away!?"  I've noticed that a lot of the seasonal items are out of stock by the time it's the actual season to shop for, so I have learned to grab an item if I really love it, because chances are it will be gone next time I shop.  I hope yo
