I have other info to share with you about my condition but prefer to do so off this site.   3 years ago did 4 weeks of CDT.  Just this month I met with Dr. Boris and Bonnie in Long Island. When we connect privately, I will fill you more.  I am so grateful.  Thank you, Steve!  Cathy

I remember you well and hope that there was at least a little I could offer back then. The times haven't changed markedly in that CDT is still the Gold Standard therapy (not a bad thing since it works quite well) but many hope for a high tech solution which will still be some years off. We do train therapists annually still at MGH and the course draws from the entire region. That said Boston and perhaps the Mass health care structure has made it hard for a system like CDT to thrive. I'll take a close look at our list of grads and see if anyone pops out. I sometimes get a feel when graduates call me for advice. Its a good sign they're making it work and are dedicated and talented. I'll do some research and get back to you. may I have your regular email address? It make it easier for me to stay on track with you. I hope you are otherwise well! My bests, Steve   less

I forwarded your question on to Steve, but wanted to offer my opinion as well. This trip sounds great. Flying can be worrysome when you are at risk for lymphedema, but I would not let it dictate your plans. A non-stop flight may be easier to tolerate for her rather than the ups and downs of making stops. Getting a comfortable off the shelf compression sleeve may be a good idea as a precaution, but there is not a lot of supportive literature out there to justify it. It won't hurt her to wear a sleeve on the flight, especially if it gives her and yourself piece of mind. You can check out www.lymphnet.org (The National Lymphedema Network) and read their position paper on air travel for some added insight. Good luck and have a great trip!!  less

I got there and my arm was fine. I flew back same stop, but we went to 37,000 feet. My arm was swollen the next day....and ever since I have been wearing a sleeve. I am having my arm wrapped over the next few weeks in order to get a custom fit sleeve. I had a tumor in my arm pit last year. They shrunk it and then removed it along with 48 lymph glands. They could not determine the source of the cancer so they treated it as breast cancer. I only got the first sleeve for flying....little did I know- I really was going to need it. Your sister could be fine, but she should wear a sleeve while flying and maybe a day or 2 after.....I know someone who had breast cancer and didn't get lymphedema for 7 years...Best wishes to her and I pray she doesn't get it. .I hope you have a great trip-  less

I'm editing the script and then once its in there hands we'll really see some movement with the project. I'll probably fly out to KC for additional filming so will also want to get your take on the need to have a patient and or therapist for additional footage. They said the footage was exceptional and I've yet to see anything. How are you? How's the book section coming? Please let me know if you require anything from me. Great to hear from you.
