Well I am so glad my husband found this site.
I have lymphedema of the R leg with flair ups in my R arm. I have had it for about 5 years. Reason unknown. It has really changed my life. I have kids who are active a family that is active and at times I just can't be. I can't walk as long or as fare as I used to. The heat really sets me back. When I have pushed myself too far I end up in bed leg elevated on my leg pump and taking meds for pain and inflammation. It has been hard to find a good therapist for decongestion therapy. Insurance can I just say (crazy). I have stopped working and that really seems to help because I can put my leg up or walk a bit. But now I wonder what kind of job will I be able to do? Plus I have to say the stocking great fashion accessory. At first I had a hard time with it over came that great look and now the arm sleeve and glove gotta say this one is a little more because I am right handed and it seems to be in your face you have lymphedema more then my leg said it to me! So one garmet at a time!
I have also mourned the necessity of wearing not-so-attractive garments! I've had lymphedema in both legs since childhood and really don't enjoy wearing compression garments everyday. I would love to approach the garment manufacturers and... more
