Loving Life In Wide Width Winter Boots

Winter in the PNW means rain, rain, a randomlly sunny day that is like 70 degrees, followed by-you guessed it rain.  Where I live in Oregon we do have some light dustings of snow and every 2-3 years it "dumps snow" which means a couple of inches.  Basically the whole city shuts down when this happens and we all hunker in for the 1-2 days it last.  It's the one time a year I love our steep driveway, it's the best sledding hill!  Winter and rain boots has been one of the most difficult items to find that fit Bertha.  Here are a few style I found that should work for us Lymphies and Lippys. xo-Allie

Sorel Out and About Waterproof Bootie

Living in Oregon and as a soccer Mom I need a good basic boot to keep Bertha dry.  I especially like these boots, because they are lace up, so you can adjust them if you only have one "Lymphie foot."  This is the boot I've had for the past few years.  I read reviews and decided to size up 2 sizes to a 12 and I'm glad I did.  I like booties, because I never know what my Lymphie ankle will look or feel like, booties I've found are usually easier to fit, no matter how swollen your limb is.  There are two designs to this boot, the pair I have that doesn't have a lining and the "Conquest" style with faux fur trim.  Other than that they have been great!  Here is my original Blog Post about them.  And another I posted last winter "Loving Life In Winter Boots"  Below are links to where you can find this boot.

Target's Cathleen Waterproof Winter Boots

This All In Motion Cathleen Boot

I ordered 11 wide and 12 wide to see the difference.  Sadly they haven't arrived yet, but I am anxious to let you know if they work and if so which size.  Today Target has 20% off all Women's Shoes and a BOGO 50% off their boots.  The promotions can be combined.  In my previous post "Loving Life in Wide Width Booties" there are three different wide width boots that may work for you.

Sperry Saltwater Lace-up Bootie

Although I have never tried these on before, they look like they could be a great fit!  They are lace-ups which means you can easily adjust them, they come in wide widths and a variety of colors.  If you do end up trying these out, I would love to hear how they worked for you, good or bad.

Skechers Preformance  On The Go Joy

Ok if we're going just by the name, this is a winner.  Another boot I haven't tried, Covid makes finding clothing and shoes extra, but they have great reviews. 1. They are low cut, so your ankles have no fear! 2. Faux Fur, enough said. And 3. They come in wide widths!  (oh and 4. Two different colors.)

  1. Hi Allie!
I subscribed to your blog earlier this year, but I wish I would of found it years ago! I'm 27, but I was diagnosed with primary lymphedema when I was 15 years old. I'm currently at stage 3, and thankful it only affects my entire right leg and foot. I've somehow managed to keep the rest of my body in good shape, but my leg has taken an awful toll on my good hip, other joints, and back in recent years. Your recent posts about shoes and boots have me so jealous! I use to be able to wear cute shoes and boots in the extra wide widths that I would order online, but given the size and condition of my foot, it now has to be custom made for me. Anyway, I look forward to reading future posts from you!
