Hi, I am new in this group...I also have lymphedema in my left lower extremedies . Question is...can a person die from this, and when do you consider this in a critical state?

Went through surgery June 2011 for breast cancer - had 14 lymph nodes removed and in April of 2012, started to have signs of lymphedema in my right arm and hand. Went to physical therapy which had hardly any effect and to this day wear a compression garment on my arm and hand most of the day and night. It's a small price to pay - I'm glad to be alive - but would love to learn some new ideas on controlling the swelling. Can't wait to start to chat with the community!! Merry Christmas to all!

Hi. I have secondary lymphedema in the right leg due to surgery and lymph nodes being removed. Looking for advice on a garment to assist with the area of my upper hip. Is a spanx type garment sufficient or is a heavier duty girdle needed?
