  Anne is...  moreI would like some feedback about a lymphedema treatment that is being suggested by a new "lymphedema specialist" recommended by the visiting physician who sees my daughter. 
  
   
  
  Anne is quite disabled now (age 51) because of lower extremity lymphedema and morbid obesity.  She has had various PTs over the past 10 years, but since she is on Medicare/Medicaid, they are only allowed to do MLD for a few weeks after which her husband (also disabled) and I try to keep the fluid moving.
  
   
  
  This new person is suggesting that she start drinking some special PH water which is to neutralize the acidic toxins accumulated in her tissue because it can't get through the lymph system.  She has not met with him yet, only talked on the phone.  It seems he uses alternative medicine of some kind.  I have not been able to find him on Indiana's Licensing Board's list so we are still trying to check him out.  But, it would help to know if anyone has heard of such an approach to treating lymphedema.
