    Jack Digwood I have a pt with a very stubborn case.  I am having a difficult time decongesting the dorsum of her hand with the traditional method of bandaging with finger wraps and the hand wrapping I learned at the school.  Anyone have any suggestions to modify...  moreI have a pt with a very stubborn case.  I am having a difficult time decongesting the dorsum of her hand with the traditional method of bandaging with finger wraps and the hand wrapping I learned at the school.  Anyone have any suggestions to modify the bandage.  She is compliant with wearing the bandage and we are doing MLD 5 x per week.

      Staff Certified Lymphedema Therapist Hi Jack, the dorsum of the hand can be very tricky. I use a palmar pad as well and sometimes add a layer of orange komprex over the dorsal grey pad for increased pressure. Make sure that the pressure you achieve is going from top down (like a press)...  moreHi Jack, the dorsum of the hand can be very tricky. I use a palmar pad as well and sometimes add a layer of orange komprex over the dorsal grey pad for increased pressure. Make sure that the pressure you achieve is going from top down (like a press) and not on the sides of the hand, which is a squeeze. Keep me posted!
