Karen Peterson I have lymphedema in my arm from breast cancer.  Has anyone heard of acupuncture to treat lymphedema?

Staff Certified Lymphedema Therapist I have heard of people receiving acupuncture along with their standard treatment regimen of manual lymph drainage and compression. It can be very relaxing and good for the soul!

I was given this site by lymphedema.com where I recently ordered a product.  I look forward to sharing information with others affected by lymphedema.
For some history, I had breast cancer in 1991 and had lymph nodes removed for testing.  Over the years, my arm has been getting bigger and finally reached the point where my wrist and hand was swelling and my forearm had grown to four inches larger than my other arm.  I purchased a compression sleeve and gauntlet and was referred to a wonderful therapist in Bend Oregon.  She uses the Vodder method and was very helpful in directing me and my husband on doing manual therapy.  She also suggested that I get a glove instead of the gauntlet and I purchase a Caresia by Solaris sleeve to wear at night.
I have noticed a difference in the amount of fluid in my arm already.  less
