  jennifer spencer Hello all I came here to get some info.  I had cervical cancer and had a radical hysterectomy with a dissection of the lymphoid in the groin area. then I had to do 6 weeks of chemo and radiation. now my lymphoid's don't drain properly and I was told to...  moreHello all I came here to get some info.  I had cervical cancer and had a radical hysterectomy with a dissection of the lymphoid in the groin area. then I had to do 6 weeks of chemo and radiation. now my lymphoid's don't drain properly and I was told to do some physical therapy I swell up daily and even if I do the exercises I still swell up from light house work I believe I need to go find a specialist to see whats going wrong. the physical therapist had to look on the internet to teach me how to so the rubbing exercises to Deswell myself but I am getting frustrated the oncologist said this is something I will have to live with for the rest of my life. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem?  less

Your doctor is correct in saying that lymphedema is something that you will have to manage from now on as they removed key lymph nodes from your groin. A Lymphedema therapist will explain everything about this condition to you and get you on the right track for treating it! Best of luck!
