I have it in my feet all the way op below my chest. It is miserable. I started therapy 2 weeks ago and have managed to get it down with massage and being wrapped. The swelling started in January while I was in the hospital with my husband that suffered a major stroke. I could not sleep and was under so much stress. We were in the hospital for 30 days and I am now his caregiver full time. I had to quit my job of 14 years. Life seems a little rough at the moment and I feel like I may never look normal again. At age 50 last summer I was wearing a sz 8 and riding horses with my husband. I have gained about 40 lbs and am extremely depressed. I need support for sure so glad to find this site    less

This message board is really, really quiet, so it might not have the support you are looking for. I am new also and couldn't find anyone willing to chat. You might want to check out the breast cancer.org lymphedema discussion board. I know you don't have breast cancer, but there are a lot more people there. Still keep coming here though. We need to build a community of people who want to talk about lymphedema.

I am very active as well, I'm 61 and my daughter and I had planned to hike the AT. Now I'm recovering from surgery, so maybe next year for me. Please hang in there.
