    What do we know about surgery as a possible treatment for lymphedema?

    My boyfriend mentioned that his nephew had an enlarged scrotum from his sister kicking him, which surgery was performed.  Tonight, a friend mentioned that she has had several surgeries to combat the problem.

    Just curious...

    Is this considered a last option option??

    Jenny Sterner From what I understand, it's generally not a good idea. Every time a surgeon operates, he cuts into the lymphatic system, with the possiblity that he will do further damage. They talk about liposuction for lymphedema, but the end result is that the...  more
